Set up in 2006 by former RTÉ journalist, Aileen O’ Meara, Aileen O’ Meara Media is a production house specialising in audio and video production. The company also offers a range of training courses.
Aileen O’ Meara Media has produced a number of documentary programmes for Irish radio stations, including The Dalkey School Project and The Martello Tales for Dublin City FM last year. Since September 2013 the company has been producing Arts Tonight, RTÉ Radio One’s flagship arts and culture programme. Other audio projects include audio heritage trails for areas such as Dún Laoghaire’s East Pier.
As well as audio, Aileen O’ Meara Media produces television documentaries. In 2013, as recipients of a Simon Cumbers Media Fund, the company travelled to Vietnam to investigate the impact of chemical warfare used during the Vietnam War. It is set to air on RTÉ. Aileen O’ Meara Media also produces promotional videos for small businesses and non-governmental organisations.
Aileen O’ Meara Media also provides one-to-one and group training opportunities. These include “Smartphone Storytelling”, a one-day course in shooting, editing, and publishing video content entirely from a smartphone, as well as lunchtime seminars in social media for small businesses and media and interview skills. These courses are attended by a wide range of people, from journalists to sole traders and digital marketers.
